Our greed has challenged the seas. We have angered her and now we must pay the price. For her waves spread many dark curses, are you the pirate to lift them?

The sea is a harsh mistress, unforgiving.

All seafarers must yield to the waves of her dark abyss. Her waves of cold tendrils forever changing the seas. She leaves nothing in her wake. Nothing but the black spot. 

Lifting this curse is a perilous journey that dooms all that sails it. These harsh seas cannot be bested alone. Seadogs stand ready at the mast, chefs, gunners and fighters. You will need their aid for other dangers lurk on these here seas. 

An empire steadfast and strong. Avarice made flesh. Wretched beasts, corrupted to fit her horrible design. 

So bring all your Captains & Cannons and take yer salvation as the fiercest pirate of them all!

-  Choose your own treacherous randomized paths along the seas.

-  Encounter an array of swashbuckling events along the way.

-  Recruit pirates to fight by your side from 4 unique character classes.

-  Strategically fend off men and beasties in turn-based combat.

-  Manage your mateys and advance their skills as ye see fit with the leveling system.

-  Be warned for there be permadeath on these here waters.

Captains & Cannons is a strategic roguelike where you get to customize your crew, defeat enemies and explore islands along your way to break free from the clutches of the corrupted sea. The game is divided into three acts where you have to defeat tough enemies. Each of these encounters are fought in a turn-based fashion where you command your crew to perform actions each round.

The fights get increasingly more difficult as the journey goes on. In each act you will also have to defeat the bosses which accompany the theme for their respective acts. Defeating them will allow you to make progress. 

Manage your items and crew members accordingly, and perhaps you'll lift the curse of the sea.
